Wilderness Chili

You don't have to be a camper to enjoy this recipe


1/2 lb. ground beef

1/2 medium onion finely chopped

3 tbsp. taco seasoning

1 tbsp. dried minced onion

2 tbsp. ground chili powder

2 tsp. sugar

1 tsp. ground cumin

1 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper

1/2 tsp. salt

15 oz. can pinto beans

10 3/4 oz. can condensed tomato soup with added 1/2 can water

1 cup spaghetti pasta cooked, drained or ramen soup noodles

shredded cheddar cheese

avocado chopped

sliced pickled jalapeno peppers


Brown beef and onion in a large skillet and drain excess fat. In a mid-size crockpot combine spices and canned ingredients. Cook for 4 hours on high- stirring occasionally. Add more water if necessary. Add cooked spaghetti or uncooked ramen noodles at least 30 minutes before cooking is complete. Place chili in soup bowls and garnish with cheddar cheese, avocado and jalapenos if desired. Makes about 4 servings.
