Ingredients

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • juice of 2 lemons

  • 1/4 tsp. lemon zest minced

Directions

  • In a saucepan, bring to a boil water and sugar. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. Boil 5 minutes more, stirring when done.
  • Add lemon juice and zest. Cool mixture. Freeze in a covered container in the freezer for 6-8 hours. Scoop out into individual dessert dishes.
  • Makes about 3 cups.

Notes

  • For a less sugar version use 3/4 cup sugar.
