Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup natural shortening

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine dough thoroughly with a pastry cutter or fork. Dough will be crumbly.
  • Lightly press into a lightly greased 13 by 9 inch cookie sheet, so that the mixture extends to the edges.
  • Bake at 350ºF in a preheated oven about 20-25 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Cut immediately, but let cool before taking shortbread from pan. Vanilla (1/2 tsp) may be added. Store shortbread in an airtight container.
