1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup natural shortening
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine dough thoroughly with a pastry cutter or fork. Dough will be crumbly.
- Lightly press into a lightly greased 13 by 9 inch cookie sheet, so that the mixture extends to the edges.
- Bake at 350ºF in a preheated oven about 20-25 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Cut immediately, but let cool before taking shortbread from pan. Vanilla (1/2 tsp) may be added. Store shortbread in an airtight container.
