Ingredients

  • 4 cups french or italian bread slices cubed (1 by 1 inch)

  • 1/4 cup butter melted

  • 1 tsp. parsley dried

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder

  • dash freshly finely ground black pepper

Directions

  • In a large bowl, place bread cubes. Combine butter, parsley, spices and salt in a measuring cup. Stir butter mixture into bread cubes.
  • Bake croutons on a cookie sheet in a 300ºF oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden- stir croutons once half way through cooking time.
  • Remove croutons from oven. Leave croutons on cookie sheet for 15-30 minutes to dry. Place in a sealed container. Makes about 4 cups croutons.
