Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh apples cored, peeled and sliced

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh whole cranberries

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/8 tsp. cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg (optional)

  • 1 cup cane sugar

Directions

  • Place apples, water, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan. Cover
  • and simmer until apples and cranberries are tender. Mash apples
  • and cranberries with a potato masher. Add sugar, stir and simmer
  • 10 minutes more. Serve warm or cold.
