Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. butter or margarine

  • 1 tbsp. flour

  • 1/4 tsp. paprika

  • 1/8 tsp. salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup american cheese cubed

Directions

  • In a mid-size saucepan, over moderate heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and seasonings.
  • Gradually add milk stirring constantly. Heat until smooth and thickened.
  • Turn down to low heat. Add cheese and heat until melted. Serve over tortilla chips topped with pickled jalapenos or over cooked vegetables.
