Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 2 egg yolks

  • juice and zest of 2 lemons

Directions

  • In a double boiler, combine eggs and yolks. Beat gently until mixed. Add rest of ingredients.
  • Stir with wooden spoon and cook gently over boiling water, until consistency of mayonnaise.
  • Store in covered jar in refrigerator. Mixture will keep for about a week.
