1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups apples chopped
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon ground
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans chopped
Directions
- Cream sugar, eggs, oil and vanilla in a bowl. Fold in apples.
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir into creamed mixture
and then pour into greased and then floured 8 by 8 inch cake pan. - Bake in a preheated oven at 350ºF for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Frost with cream cheese frosting or top with prepared caramel sauce and whipped
cream.
Notes
- A greased and then floured pan is a pan that has been brushed lightly with cooking oil. Then about a tbsp. of flour is put in the pan and the flour is moved around the pan coating the bottom and sides of the pan to facilitate easier removal of cake slices when baked.
